Tonkawa Falls is a small park that is a summer day destination for many residents around it. With a river, small waterfall, cliff jumping, picnic areas, and limestone walls, the park is great for a casual day out. The walls and caves at Tonkawa host only bouldering routes that require a guide to find. Crash pads are a must. Located in Crawford, Texas, it is a rather short drive for most north Texas climbers.

Information

Tonkawa Falls is a fun climbing location for those who do not mind other activities taking time in their day. The park has a wide variety, but limited supply of routes. The routes can be hard to find and identify, but if you can you won't be disappointed. The limestone boulder routes provide some interesting problems which are fun to climb. With around seventy-four routes there are a good mix of routes to choose from. Most days in the summer you have to dodge the crowds at the park. Many people like to visit to picnic and swim, not to mention the cliff jumping. Admission is free, but parking can cost $10 some days, contact the park to find more. Their Facebook page (Tonkawa Falls) is a better resource than the official website.
